The Cruz logo has been a staple of our shop since 2009. Since it’s conseption it has been on a track all of its own. The idea of using the famed Santa Cruz rollercoaster, properly named the “Giant Dipper”, appealed to us because it’s one of the most recognizable icons in the Santa Cruz skyline. Many people have used the lighthouse or the cliffside as landmark icons to define this beautiful city we call home. When designing the logo we wanted something with history and roots but at the same time something refreshing and new. The design is a nod to the “The City” logo used by the San Francisco Warriors during the 1970′s. Ironically the Warriors D league team moved from North Dakota to Santa Cruz in 2012, only to make The Cruz logo
even more popular amongst locals and travelers alike.
